High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest After Police Car Rammed Seven Times

Just after 8.30am on Friday 24 March 2023, officers on patrol in Chatham spotted a suspicious vehicle cruising down Rochester Street. When the driver ignored orders to stop, a wild 15-minute chase tore through the town.

Police Vehicle Rammed Repeatedly in Dangerous Pursuit

The pursuit took a violent turn as the fleeing driver reportedly reverse-rammed a police car seven times. The dramatic chase finally ended when the car was forced to stop on Longley Road.

Man Charged with Multiple Offences, Woman Released

  • Stephen Cash, 35, of Castle Road, Chatham, was arrested at the scene.
  • He faces charges including dangerous driving, failing to stop, two counts of criminal damage, failing to provide a specimen, possession of cannabis, two counts of assaulting a police officer, and driving uninsured.

Cash appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 25 March, pleading not guilty to all charges. He was remanded in custody and is due back in court on Tuesday 4 April. The female passenger, aged 23, was released without charge.
