Hit-and-Run Killer Killed in High-Speed Crash on Same Streatham Road
Nathan Davis, 35, the man jailed for mowing down hotel receptionist Veronica Chango-Alvarez in 2012, has died after a high-speed motorcycle crash on the very same road where he committed the fatal hit-and-run.
Five-Year Sentence Slammed as ‘Ridiculous’ by Victim’s Family
Back in April 2013, Davis was locked up for five years and four months after ploughing into Veronica, 31, as she waited for a bus on Streatham High Road, Norbury, at 5:30am on December 22, 2012. Veronica died in the arms of her brother, who branded the sentence “ridiculous”.
Davis was also banned from driving for six years and forced to pass an extended driving test before getting behind the wheel again.
Dangerous Driving and Multiple Collisions
- Davis fled the first crash scene after smashing into a Volkswagen.
- He then abandoned his Audi following the collision with Veronica and a 51-year-old man on the same stretch.
Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Familiar Road
On September 13, 2020, Davis, now a carpenter living in Clapham, was speeding over 60mph on his black Yamaha along the 30mph Streatham High Road. He slammed into an advertising board at a bus stop before being thrown nearly 25 metres onto the opposite pavement.
Forensic collision investigators from the Metropolitan Police found no contamination, obstructions, mechanical faults, or third-party involvement. Davis wore all the right protective gear and no substances were involved.
Davis suffered multiple open fractures and massive internal bleeding. He was rushed to St George’s Hospital and placed in intensive care but died 12 days later from organ failure due to his injuries.
