Dorset Cop Sacked for Inappropriate Relationship with Vulnerable Woman
PC Sean Ford has been booted from Dorset Police after an official hearing found him guilty of gross misconduct. The disgraceful officer had a sexual relationship with a vulnerable woman he had previously taken a statement from during an investigation.
Misconduct Hearing Reveals Shocking Breach of Trust
The misconduct hearing took place between 28 and 30 September 2021 at Dorset Police HQ in Winfrith. PC Ford admitted to misconduct involving breaches of authority, respect, and courtesy—but denied gross misconduct. The legally qualified chair disagreed and ruled Ford’s actions amounted to gross misconduct, leading to his dismissal.
Deputy Chief Constable Issues Strong Warning
“Our officers are duty bound to adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity at all times and it is very disappointing that an officer has been found guilty of gross misconduct,” said Deputy Chief Constable Sam de Reya.
“The public expect and deserve trust and confidence in their police force. We take misconduct very seriously and will investigate fully anyone suspected of failing to meet the standards expected.”
