Police crack down on dangerous drivers and criminals in Kent! Officers are stepping up patrols across Swale, Medway, Dartford, and Gravesham to crack down on risky motorists and offenders using cars as cover for crime.
Targeting Dangerous Driving and Drug Use
On Friday 4 November, Swale’s Local and Community Policing Teams hit the Isle of Sheppey hard. Joined by PD Billie and her handler, alongside the Roads Policing Unit, they targeted motorists breaking the law – from speeding to driving under the influence.
The result? Nine traffic offence reports issued on Halfway Road, Minster. Eight fines for speeding and one for bald tyres show no mercy to unsafe drivers.
Stop and Searches Snare Drugs
Officers carried out three stop searches during the night. One suspect caught with a small stash of cannabis was promptly handed a verbal warning at the roadside. Authorities are determined to clear weapons and drugs off the streets.
Big Bust: Jack Christopher Arrested
But the biggest catch was Jack Christopher, 31, from Gillingham. He faces eight charges, including:
- Driving without due care or attention
- Failing to stop when asked
- Driving without a licence or insurance
- Refusing a Class A drug test
Christopher was bailed and must appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 23 November.
Operation to Continue Across Kent
Police vow to keep the pressure up with ongoing patrols and checks across the region in the months ahead. Dangerous drivers and criminal offenders beware – Kent law enforcers mean business!
