High-speed catch puts Nottingham drug dealer in the dock
Caught red-handed cycling with cannabis joint
Jordan McKnight, 21, was spotted by cops cycling through St Ann’s with a cannabis joint dangling from his mouth. Things went downhill when he stopped to chat with a vehicle passenger.
Attempted escape fails as drugs uncovered
As police approached, McKnight tried to jump off his bike and bolt. But he was snapped up instantly. A quick search revealed he was hiding drugs in his underwear — 17 wraps of heroin and 3 wraps of crack cocaine.
Further raids reveal more drugs and damning evidence
Officers dug deeper, uncovering phone evidence linking McKnight to drug supply. A later search of a St Ann’s address connected to him found more cannabis stash.
Two-year suspended sentence handed down
McKnight, from Colston Road, Bulwell, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and crack, plus possession of cannabis. Nottingham Crown Court gave him a 2-year prison sentence suspended for 2 years on Tuesday (21 February 2023).
Police Constable Karl Browne of Nottinghamshire Police said: “McKnight was caught in possession of individually wrapped drugs in street deal quantities with the clear intention of selling them on. Peddling drugs has a hugely damaging effect on communities and destroys lives. That’s why we continue to work hard to target those who insist on bringing misery to our streets and we will not stop making sure those who commit this type of crime are brought to the courts.”
