London Dealer Jailed for Peddling Heroin and Crack in Ramsgate
Drug Dealer Caught on ‘Reds’ County Lines
A London drug dealer who travelled to Ramsgate to sell heroin and crack cocaine has been locked up for four years. Cameron Johnson, 22, from Plaistow’s Frinton Road, got caught by Kent Police during their crackdown on the notorious ‘Reds’ county lines.
Caught Red-Handed After Code Messages and Car Sighting
Police traced messages from Johnson’s phone offering ‘new whisky and brandy’ – clever code for heroin and crack – to a Ramsgate user on December 30, 2019. His Vauxhall Insignia was then spotted locally on January 2, 2020, raising suspicion.
Ruthless Police Raid Uncovers Drug Operation
On January 23, 2020, Kent and Metropolitan Police swooped on Johnson’s East London home. They seized a phone loaded with hundreds of drug messages and found cocaine hidden in his car. Johnson later admitted supplying both heroin and crack cocaine in court.
Detective Constable Jonathan Heard said: “The drugs Johnson was ferrying into Thanet would have brought misery to the lives of users and their families. We are determined to shut down county lines networks and this sentence shows that prison awaits those bringing class A drugs into Kent.”
Johnson was sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court on February 25, 2020, sending a tough message to county lines dealers targeting Kent.
