Four Men Jailed for Brutal Kidnap and Assault in Stoke-on-Trent

Merseyside and London Men Convicted

Egidijus Savickas, 29, from Bootle, Merseyside, and 34-year-old Dovydas Smilginis from London were slammed with lengthy prison sentences at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court following a shocking kidnapping and assault case.

Both were found guilty of two counts of kidnapping, grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of offensive weapons including blades. Their trial wrapped up in September 2023.

Lengthy Jail Terms for Savickas and Smilginis

Savickas and Smilginis were handed 14 years each for GBH with intent linked to one victim. Concurrently, they received 13 years for kidnapping that same victim, eight years for abducting a second victim, plus additional sentences for assault and weapon possession. The total included 15 months for assault, 18 months for knife possession, and nine months for having a baseball bat as a weapon.

Dudley and Birmingham Men Plead Guilty

Modestas Stoskus, 32, from Dudley, and 40-year-old Mohammed Nasar from Birmingham pleaded guilty during the trial’s early stage back in July 2023, admitting the same charges of kidnapping, GBH with intent, and weapon offences.

Hefty Sentences for Stoskus and Nasar

  • Stoskus received 13 years and six months for GBH, alongside 11 years and eight months for kidnapping, seven years and two months for a second kidnapping, and extra time for assaults and weapon holdings.
  • Nasar was jailed for 12 years and seven months for GBH, with concurrent sentences of 11 years and eight months and seven years and two months for the kidnappings, plus further time for assault and weapon charges.
