Nottingham Flat Shut Down After Drug Raids and Antisocial Chaos
Police Snap Into Action
Officers raided a property on Milton Street, Nottingham, after a flood of complaints and multiple arrests. The city centre’s Operation Compass team teamed up with neighbourhood cops to tackle the growing antisocial nightmare.
Court Order to Keep Troublemakers Out
The teams have now applied for a court order to shut the property tight. If approved, anyone entering or staying at the flat will be breaking the law — except emergency services, the landlord, or authorised reps.
Drugs, Abuse, and Arrests at the Flat
On Thursday 29 December 2022, police found several people inside during their raid. Two men were hauled in on spot: a 36-year-old busted for skipping court on drug charges, and a 41-year-old slapped with an arrest for breaking bail rules.
A second 41-year-old got a court summons for possession of a Class B drug, while another man was caught with a Class C drug. He received a community resolution, meaning he must take part in an intervention programme.
Sergeant Speaks Out
“Residents in the building are fed up with constant antisocial behaviour,” said Sergeant Jonathan Pothecary, leader of Operation Compass. “Some have even been abused and assaulted by visitors inside the property. I’m glad we’ve managed to close this problematic flat so residents can live in peace.”
