Stalker Jailed Again for Ignoring Restraining Order
Repeat Offender Sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court
Juntai Mosdell, 48, from Lobelia Close, Gillingham, was locked up on 16 October 2020 for breaching a restraining order. The court heard she sent threatening messages to her ex-partner, ignoring a strict ban on contact.
History of Harassment and Harrowing Threats
Back in 2018, Mosdell was jailed for almost five months for stalking her former partner with threats of violence and harassment. Upon release, she was slapped with a restraining order preventing any communication with him.
Between 7 March and 11 June 2020, Mosdell bombarded her victim with 56 texts and several social media messages. Many contained threats targeting him and his family.
New Indefinite Restraining Order Imposed
Arrested on 15 June, Mosdell was swiftly charged and brought before the court. Alongside her jail sentence, she received a tougher restraining order. This bans her from contacting the victim or anyone close to him and bars her from coming within 250 metres of his home or other locations he frequents—indefinitely.
“Harassment is a serious offence which should not be taken lightly,” said investigating officer PC Claire Peirson. “This kind of behaviour negatively affects a person’s day to day quality of life and puts the victim under constant stress and fear. We will always put together the strongest case to achieve the best result for the person being targeted.”
