Manchester Drug Gang Busted and Locked Up for Over 42 Years

A ruthless Manchester drug gang has been smashed and jailed for a hefty 42 years and four months after a major police crackdown. The crew, operating across the city, were involved in pumping out up to £10 million worth of Class A and B drugs while running stolen cars and packing firearms.

Key Players Behind Bars

  • Illyas Abudaber of Birchfields Road, Fallowfield – slammed with 12 years for conspiracy to supply drugs, firearm possession, handling stolen goods, dangerous driving and more.
  • Mohammed Sadigh of Quantock Street, Moss Side – copped 11 years for conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs.
  • Ebrahim Saidgh (Quantock Street, Moss Side) – jailed for 7 years for drug conspiracy.
  • Hamza Azouz of Bexington Road, Alexandra Park – sentenced to 6 years on drug charges.
  • Hamam Alhamruni of Nevada Street, Ardwick – handed 6 years and 4 months for drug conspiracy and breaching a suspended sentence.

How the Gang Was Nabbed

The operation kicked off after a 2017 road traffic collision on Wilmslow Road, Rusholme, involving a stolen car which police pursued and seized. Forensic digs uncovered drugs, cash, mobile phones, and a loaded firearm. Phones linked gang leaders – Illyas Abudaber reported as acting under Mohammed Sadigh’s orders.

A 2019 high-speed chase on Princess Parkway, Moss Side, revealed more crack cocaine, cannabis, cash, stolen property, and dangerous weapons.

Police Praise Hunter Team’s Efforts

“These sentences reflect the massive harm this gang inflicted on Manchester,” said Detective Sergeant Richard Bolt of GMP’s Serious Crime Division. “We removed not only drugs and firearms but also stolen vehicles used recklessly in dangerous police pursuits. This gang showed zero regard for public safety in their greedy quest for cash.”

Detective Inspector Madeline Kelly added, “This is a top result that highlights our commitment to keeping Greater Manchester safe. We’ll keep striking at all levels of the drug trade until our communities are free from harm.”

The crackdown follows years of intense investigation targeting every layer of the city’s drug networks. Police vow to keep hunting criminals and safeguarding neighbourhoods across Manchester.
