Paedophile Caught with Shocking Cache of Child Abuse Images
Kristian Fernandez, 65, has been sentenced to two years and three months for possessing indecent images of children. The Ramsgate resident was jailed at Canterbury Crown Court on 12 May 2021 after admitting to three counts of making indecent images of a child.
Police BUST Fernandez During Routine SOPO Check
Kent Police’s Offender Management Unit visited Fernandez on 6 June 2019, checking up on him as part of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) linked to his previous convictions from 2009. While inspecting a phone at his Clements Road home, officers spotted an indecent image and seized the device.
Disturbing Discovery: 16 Category A Images Amongst Hoard
Further analysis revealed Fernandez had more than 20 indecent images and videos, including 16 in Category A—the most explicit and vile material recognised by police and courts.
Fernandez was arrested and charged with multiple offences relating to these horrific images.
Investigator Issues Stark Warning
Jean Farbrace, lead investigator, said: “The children abused in these images are real victims of real crimes and anyone accessing such images is complicit in their abuse.”
“Fernandez continued to access these images despite being the subject of a court order. His sentence sends a clear message: if you break these laws, prison is inevitable.”
