Sex Fiend Ronald Didd Jailed for Rape of Teen

Ronald Didd, 62, from Littlehampton, has been locked up for seven and a half years after pleading guilty to raping a teenager and committing other sexual offences against her. The sentence was handed down at Winchester Crown Court on Friday 11 March.

Harsh Restrictions Hit Paedophile on Release

  • Didd will serve 7.5 years behind bars
  • Followed by 2.5 years on extended licence
  • Shackled with a lifelong sex offender registration
  • Subject to a decade-long Sexual Harm Prevention Order
  • Restraining Order forbids any contact with victim or her family

How He Groomed and Betrayed a Vulnerable Family

Didd, who once lived in North East Kent and South London, manipulated the victim’s vulnerable family to gain unrestricted access to the teenager. Detective Constable Jason Berney exposed his vile tactics:

“Didd met the victim’s vulnerable family and over a period of time two years ago he manipulated them in order to allow him unrestricted access to a child and commit the offences while she was staying in his home. He caused great harm and fear to the victim, who was very brave to provide her evidence to police and support the investigation.”

Berney added:

“Following our investigation Didd was left with little option but to enter guilty pleas to the charges. The victim in this case really needs to be commended for her bravery, as this was extremely traumatic. He manipulated her family and left her isolated and vulnerable and yet she still had the courage to speak out against him.”

National Child Exploitation Awareness Day

Friday 18 March marks National Child Exploitation Awareness Day. The day serves as a stark reminder that spotting grooming and abuse is tough but vital. With victims often silenced by fear and manipulation, everyone must watch for warning signs and report concerns.

We all have a part to play in protecting vulnerable children and bringing predators like Didd to justice.
