Love Triangle Murder Shock in Newham: Woman and Her Younger Lover Found Guilty
Brutal Stabbing Rocks Stratford Alleyway
Asta Juskauskiene, 35, from Iron Mill Lane, has been found guilty of murder and perverting the course of justice at the Old Bailey on 9 January. The victim, her ex-husband Giedrius Juskauskas, 42, was fatally stabbed in a savage attack in a Stratford alley in June 2019.
Victim Suffered Over 35 Stab Wounds
The jury heard chilling details of the assault. Giedrius was found bleeding from his neck in an alley off Whalebone Lane, with emergency services arriving swiftly. Despite their rush to save him, he died at the scene at 1.01am. A post-mortem revealed over 35 stab wounds and broken bones, indicating extreme brutality.
Ex-Lovers’ Deadly Feud Behind The Attack
Mantas Kvedaras, 25, Juskauskiene’s younger lover, admitted to the murder at the Old Bailey on 17 October. He had only just arrived from Lithuania days earlier, where he was serving time for sexual assault. The trio’s tangled relationship included a child with the victim despite Giedrius and Asta’s divorce six months earlier.
Orchestrated Attack and Cover-Up
Police uncovered that Juskauskiene masterminded the deadly meeting. She had contacted both men just hours before the murder and later tried to erase evidence, removing Kvedaras’s personal items and deleting incriminating texts. Both were arrested on 19 June and charged the next day.
Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith said: “Both Juskauskiene and Kvedaras intended to cause serious harm to Giedrius, who will now never see his daughter grow up.”
“The level of violence used was brutal; it is a relief Juskauskiene will serve time for her part in this sinister plan. They are both equally responsible — it’s better they are behind bars than free to harm someone else.”
The sentencing is set for 7 February, closing the chapter on a deadly love triangle that shook Newham to its core.
