Woman in 70s Hospitalised After Brutal Assault
Kent Police rushed to Heathfield Avenue at 11.30am on Thursday, 12 October 2023, following reports of an assault. A woman in her 70s was found with stab wounds and was immediately taken by South East Coast Ambulance Service to a London hospital. She remains in stable condition, receiving treatment.
Man Known to Victim Nabbed and Charged
Police acted fast, arresting a man connected to the victim just 30 minutes after the incident. Mark Roberts, 51, of Auden Way, Dover, was charged with attempted murder by detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
Suspect Remanded Ahead of Crown Court Hearing
Roberts appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 17 October. He was remanded in custody and is due to face maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, 14 November.
