Ex Brutalises Ex and Packs Sawn-off Shotguns in Shocking Home Horror
Edgaras Sneideris, 40, of Thomas Cribb Mews, Newham, was slammed with six years and three months behind bars at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, 23 July. He admitted a terrifying cocktail of crimes including possession of firearms, assault, threats to kill, cannabis cultivation, and malicious communications.
Threats, Break-Ins and Brutal Attacks
On 5 April 2020, Sneideris terrorised his ex-partner with a vile voicemail threatening to “beat her up” and “cut her head off.” Just three days later, he broke into her home through an unlocked door. He launched a violent attack, punching and kicking her while shouting chilling threats like “I will kill you” and “I will chop your head off.” The victim called the police, but Sneideris fled before they arrived.
Ignoring warnings, Sneideris returned around midnight on 9 April and launched another battering spree, kicking and punching her face and arms. Again, the victim called police, but he vanished before officers arrived.
Sawn-off Shotguns Discovered in Stolen Gym Bag
Sneideris’s ex’s housemate revealed he helped move items out of the victim’s home on 5 April. During the move, Sneideris whipped out something wrapped in a pink scarf — later identified as a single-barrel sawn-off shotgun. He then shoved the weapon into a black gym bag before stashing it in his car.
Police found the bag during a vehicle search and uncovered two sawn-off shotguns wrapped in cloth. These deadly firearms were made safe and sent for testing. Officers arrested Sneideris at his home and unearthed around 40 cannabis plants and related grow materials in a bedroom.
Denials Crumble Against Overwhelming Evidence
Sneideris denied assaulting his ex and tried to downplay the threats as “arguments.” He admitted owning the guns but claimed someone else asked him to hold them for a week. He refused to name the owner. Regarding the cannabis, he said it was for personal use.
The victim and her housemate were moved to a safe new address with panic alarms installed.
Detective Constable Ziten Mistry said: “Sneideris is a dangerous and violent individual, proven by his possession of not one but two sawn-off shotguns. He tried to make excuses, but the evidence was overwhelming. Thanks to the bravery of the victim and her housemate, he is now behind bars. Tackling domestic abuse remains a top Met priority. If you or someone you know is at risk, please speak out.”
