Gangland Bust: Hounslow Man Jailed for Drugs and Loaded Gun
Sahedul Haque, 20, from Hounslow, was slammed with six years behind bars and a three-year extended licence at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday, 12 October.
Guilty Plea for Firearm and Class A Drugs
Haque had already pleaded guilty on 3 July to possession of a firearm – despite being banned for life – and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, including crack cocaine and heroin.
Police Catch Haque Trying to Flee
Just before 5pm on Sunday, 23 January, officers on patrol on the A4 Great West Road spotted a mini-cab and signalled it to stop. As the taxi slowed into a layby, Haque leapt out and bolted – but was quickly tackled by officers.
A search uncovered a revolver loaded with one round, hidden in Haque’s underwear wrapped in a towel. Plus, two phones and £780 in cash were found in his pockets.
Overflowing with Drugs and Damning Evidence
A strip search at a north London police station revealed 104 packs of crack cocaine and 18 packets of heroin concealed on him. Messages on his phone confirmed he intended to supply the drugs.
Haque was already serving a three-year sentence from November 2017 for firearm possession, making his current firearm charge a breach of his life ban.
Detective Constable Pearce said: “This routine stop led to the seizure of 122 wraps of Class A drugs and a loaded gun, which could have seriously harmed people. Drugs and violent crime are tightly linked in London, and cases like this show why we strike hard against those who fuel both.”
