Pervert Arif Azad Hoards Thousands of Sick Child Abuse Images
Specialist Met officers cracked down on Arif Azad, 21, from Newham, after discovering he’d accessed nearly 6,000 indecent images of children online. Shockingly, 3,500 of these were in the most extreme category.
Disturbing Discovery: Images Sent by an Unknown Child
The investigation revealed some images were sent to Azad by an unknown child he’d been chatting to online. Although police found no evidence he met any children in person, PC Ella Rose of the Met’s Safeguarding unit confirmed Azad’s behaviour was “undoubtedly paedophilic” and “increasingly concerning.”
“He was brought to justice thanks to the dedication of officers from the Online Child Sexual Abuse Exploitation Team. Their investigation was complex and difficult, and there will have been a personal cost for the officers involved in gathering such a large volume of disturbing evidence in order to ensure that Azad was made to answer for his crimes.” – PC Ella Rose
Paedophile Manual and Online Chats with Children Unearthed
On the day before his arrest, Azad downloaded a twisted ‘paedophile manual’ advising how to abuse children as young as two months old. Officers also uncovered multiple online communications between Azad and children.
Justice Served: Four Years Inside Plus Lifelong Monitoring
On 19 April 2024, Azad was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court to four years behind bars. His sentence covers two years for making, distributing, and possessing indecent images, and two years for sexual communication with a child plus possessing the paedophile manual.
Azad pleaded guilty last October. He’ll also face lifelong Sex Offender Notification Requirements and a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
