Paedophile Donald Campbell Jailed for Six Years After Horrific Crimes Against Girl Under 13

Donald Ian Campbell, 71, from Poole, has been locked up for six years after pleading guilty to multiple child sex offences. The grim case saw him face charges including inciting a girl under 13 to sexual activity and assault by touching.

Horrific Crimes and Swift Justice

Campbell admitted to three counts of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual acts, three counts of assault by touching, and one count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of the child. He was sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on 20 October 2021. Along with his six-year prison term, he was slapped with a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

Brave Victim and Police Praise

The vile offences came to light after a police probe, leading to Campbell’s arrest on 26 February 2021. Detective Constable Ade Stocker from Dorset Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Team (CAIT) thanked the victim and her family for their courage.

“I would like to pay tribute to the victim and her family for their bravery in reporting these offences and allowing Dorset Police to carry out a thorough investigation. I am pleased that Campbell has been given a custodial sentence for the crimes he subjected his victim to.

I hope that the outcome of this case demonstrates that we will extensively investigate incidents of this nature and we would encourage any other victims of sexual abuse to please report it to Dorset Police.”

Message to Other Victims

Police urged anyone suffering sexual abuse to come forward, promising tough action and full investigations. Campbell’s conviction sends a clear warning to predators lurking in communities.
