Late Night Stabbing at Fox on the Hill Pub
Police were called just after midnight on 12 March 2022 following reports of a stabbing in the car park of the Fox on the Hill pub, Denmark Hill. Responding officers and the London Ambulance Service found a man in his 20s critically injured with a knife wound to the head. He had been out enjoying a night with friends.
Witnesses revealed the victim was attacked by two men after making a comment about Barton’s reckless driving in the pub car park.
Police Hunt Leads to Quick Arrests
Detectives launched an intensive investigation, using car park number plate recognition cameras, CCTV footage, and social media data to track down the assailants. They also pieced together movements from the victim’s stolen phone, which followed the suspects’ route after the attack.
Detective Constable Shane Richardson said: “This was an extremely violent attack on a man enjoying a night out. Knife crime causes severe harm, and the victim is still recovering from his injuries and trauma. I hope this outcome brings some closure to him and his family.”
“The Met is determined to keep violent offenders off London’s streets. I’m pleased this case led to the swift arrest and conviction of two violent men.”
