Chaos in Crawley: Man Gets Suspended Sentence for Attacking Emergency Workers
Michael Sardes, 25, from Tilgate Way, faced the law after a string of violent incidents in Crawley. On 26 July 2023, he was handed a suspended sentence for four counts of assaulting emergency workers and common assault that took place between June 2022 and March 2023.
Disturbance Sparks Police Call-Out
On 30 November, cops rushed to a disturbance at Sardes’ home on Tilgate Way. When they arrived, Sardes was arrested to prevent a Breach of the Peace.
Violent Outburst in Custody
But it didn’t end there. While in handcuffs, Sardes acted erratically – spitting at one officer and biting another at the custody centre.
Court Day Brings Guilty Plea and Sentence
He appeared at Crawley Magistrates Court on Friday, 1 December. There, Sardes pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker, harassment, and criminal damage.
The court handed down a 32-week prison sentence, suspended, and ordered him to pay £130 in compensation.
