Aberystwyth Assault: Man Slaps Victim with Racist Abuse Outside Nightclub
In April, 25-year-old Hefin Parker of Aberystwyth launched a shocking attack on Morris Pleasure, known as Mo, outside the town’s Royal Pier nightclub.
Racist Assault Caught on CCTV
CCTV footage shows Parker delivering an open-palm slap to Mr Pleasure while hurling racist insults about his skin colour. Mo, who had moved to Aberystwyth just two years ago, was waiting in line to enter the nightclub when the attack happened.
Victim Left ‘Constantly Frightened’
Speaking at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court, Mr Pleasure revealed he has been “constantly on guard and apprehensive” since the assault. In a victim impact statement, he admitted he is now “questioning the relocation to Aberystwyth” and worried about his family’s safety.
Judge Hands Down 20-Week Sentence
Parker was given a 20-week sentence, running concurrently with another. He apologised in court and expressed regret for his actions. He was also ordered to pay fees as part of his punishment.
