Peckham Killer Nabbed and Charged Within Fortnight
Detectives swiftly arrested 19-year-old Yusuf Kallon just two weeks after the fatal stabbing of Rohan Trotman in Peckham last year.
Phone Dumped and CCTV Trails Crack the Case
At trial, the jury heard how officers proved Kallon ditched his phone right after the murder. Detectives spent hundreds of hours combing through CCTV footage to zero in on him as the prime suspect.
Desperate Escape Plans Uncovered
Investigators also revealed Kallon’s frantic plot to flee the country. He made credit card payments to a Spanish holiday firm, booked flights to Sierra Leone, and paid for a fast-tracked new passport, all in a bid to vanish.
Kallon Found Guilty of Murder and Robbery, But Cleared Weapon Charge
On Monday 3 June, the jury convicted Kallon of murder and two counts of robbery. However, he was found not guilty of possessing an offensive weapon.
Kallon is due to be sentenced at the same court on 28 June.
