Life Behind Bars for Killer Levi Paschal in Park Murder
Levi Paschal, 34, from Clarence Avenue, SW4, has been found guilty of the brutal murder of 38-year-old Lee Casey. The Old Bailey handed down a life sentence on Friday, 26 February, with a minimum of 20 years behind bars.
Multiple Sentences for Violent Crime Spree
Paschal didn’t stop at murder. He was also sentenced to 11 years for attempted robbery and six years for causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) to a second victim. His partner, Clementine Jones, 32, also from Clarence Avenue, received 10 years for attempted robbery and five years for GBH. A suspended sentence she was serving was activated, adding another three months to her jail time.
How the Tragic Crime Unfolded
- On 29 August 2019, Paschal and Jones hatched a plan to rob a man in Rush Green park, SW2.
- The man sat on a bench with Lee Casey and a woman when Paschal and Jones approached.
- An argument broke out. Paschal pulled a large hunting knife and chased the man.
- The man slipped and was grabbed by Paschal.
- Lee bravely intervened and was stabbed by Paschal in the struggle.
- Despite first aid efforts, Lee died later that afternoon in hospital.
- Paschal and Jones fled the scene but were caught days later.

“Lee’s heroic actions in trying to protect someone did not come as a surprise to us. However, this brave and selfless deed cost him his life,” said Lee’s sister, Michelle Casey. “Levi Paschal was willing to destroy anything that got in his way, including Lee’s life. He can still see and speak to his loved ones but we will never see or speak to Lee again. How is that fair?” “No punishment could ever be comparable to what Paschal caused. We just want Lee back, but hopefully he won’t harm another family again.” “The anxiety and heartache we live with daily is unbearable. All we ever wished for was to hear Lee say ‘I love you’ one more time.”
Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin said: “Levi Paschal’s actions have devastated Lee Casey’s family and friends. Lee was fatally stabbed while bravely helping a friend.” “Paschal and Jones set out to intimidate and use violence. Now they face justice, but the real loss is suffered by Lee’s family.”
