Predatory Paedophile Kusakana Mfuka Found Guilty at Wood Green Crown Court
Kusakana Mfuka, 34, of Ridge Road, Haringey, was found guilty on Wednesday 26 April of three counts of attempted rape and seven counts of gross indecency with a child. The shocking offences took place at a Hornsey home between January 2002 and January 2004.
Child Victim Assaulted Over Two Years
At the time, Mfuka was just 13 to 15 years old. The young victim, aged between 10 and 12, was sexually assaulted multiple times. The abuse only came to light in August 2020 when the victim bravely reported the attacks to police.
Police Build Strong Case with Forensic Evidence
Detectives forged trust with the victim and witnesses connected to Mfuka during the offending period. Their painstaking investigation included forensic analysis of Mfuka’s phone, which uncovered crucial evidence. This culminated in charges being authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service in March 2021.
Justice Follows: Mfuka Awaiting Sentencing
Mfuka will be sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday, 5 May.
Detective Sergeant Myles Bossman from North London’s public protection team said:
“Mfuka’s crimes can only be described as predatory. He abused the trust of a vulnerable child he knew and committed repeated sexual assaults with no remorse. This verdict sends a clear message that abuse against children will not be tolerated, no matter how long ago it happened.”
“The victim showed immense bravery, supported by family, faith and community, in coming forward and aiding the investigation. I thank the victim and witnesses for their courage. I hope this conviction helps provide some closure after a deeply disturbing ordeal.”
“The Met urges any victim or witness of sexual assault to report it, regardless of when it happened. We have zero tolerance for these crimes and will investigate fully. This conviction proves offenders will be found and justice served.”
