Cold-Blooded Killer Khallid Hogan Jailed for 27 Years

Khallid Hogan, 20, from Manor Court, Enfield, was slammed with a hefty 27-year prison sentence at the Old Bailey on Monday, 4 October. He was convicted of murdering Abdullahi Mohamoud in a shocking shooting spree in Enfield. Hogan also picked up an extra 42 months for trying to pervert the course of justice, to run at the same time as his murder sentence.

Gunman Opens Fire in Busy Fast Food Joint

The chilling attack unfolded on 19 March 2020 when Abdullahi visited a fast food restaurant on Hertford Road, Enfield. As he waited for his meal, Hogan burst in and fired his weapon four times—luckily missing Abdullahi and five others inside.

Abdullahi made a desperate dash, fleeing through a back door into a yard full of garages. But Hogan wasn’t done. As Abdullahi scaled a concrete wall trying to escape, Hogan fired again—and this time the bullet struck Abdullahi in the head.

Abdullahi collapsed soon after and tragically died in hospital later that day despite medical efforts.

Forensics and CCTV Pinpoint Hogan’s Guilt

Specialist Crime Command detectives cracked the case wide open with extensive CCTV and mobile phone analysis. They revealed Hogan arrived as a passenger in a car shortly after Abdullahi, having apparently been tipped off about his presence at the restaurant.

Forensic experts linked the bullet casings found to a 9mm Makarov pistol, matching Hogan’s weapon. In a desperate ploy to dodge blame, Hogan called his friend Alex Weekes and kept the phone line open during the shooting to fabricate an alibi.

Weekes, 20, from Brimsdown Avenue, Enfield, was arrested and later sentenced to 20 months for conspiracy to pervert justice after being found guilty at the Old Bailey.

Detectives Praise Teamwork as Justice Served

“Hogan carried out a cold-blooded and premeditated attack on Abdullahi Mahamoud, shooting at him at least five times. It was extremely fortunate that nobody else was injured,”

said Detective Chief Inspector Claire Hine, lead investigator.

“Thanks to tireless detective work sifting through hours of CCTV and phone data, Hogan has been convicted and will spend a long time behind bars. Violence like this will not be tolerated on London’s streets. Our officers work round the clock to bring killers to justice.”
