Man Jailed for Brutal Murder of Sex Worker Victoria Greenwood
Robert Brown, 38, has been found guilty of murdering 41-year-old Victoria Greenwood. Her body was discovered in a Hertfordshire car park last year, shocking the local community.
CCTV Reveals Grim Details of Meeting and Escape Attempt
The court heard that Brown arranged to meet Victoria, who worked as a sex worker, in the early hours of Friday 10 November. CCTV footage showed the pair arriving and entering Brown’s flat. Later, chilling images captured Victoria on the ground outside, apparently trying to escape, only for Brown to drag her back inside.
Suspicious Purchases and Duct-Taped Body Move
Investigators from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit uncovered Brown’s multiple shopping trips that weekend. He bought a saw, foldable sack barrow, jerry can, and large quantities of cleaning supplies, raising serious red flags.
On Sunday 12 November, CCTV caught Brown transporting a large furniture unit wrapped in duct tape—containing Victoria’s body—using the sack barrow. He was also filmed filling a container with fuel at a local petrol station that evening.
Emergency Services Called to Burning Body in Car Park
Two days later, emergency responders rushed to a car park near Wallington after reports of a body on fire. Brown, from Hitchin Road, Luton, was arrested and later found guilty of murder following a three-week trial at Luton Crown Court.
Before the trial, Brown admitted to obstructing a coroner’s duty. He is set to be sentenced on Friday 7 June.
