Bradford killer handed life with 31-year minimum for brutal stabbing
Soj murders flatmate in shocking late-night attack
Zbigniew Soj, 24, from Bradford, has been jailed for life after admitting the murder of Borbala ‘Bori’ Benko and the attempted murder of Klaudia Rogozinska.
The horrific stabbing happened on November 21 in their shared accommodation on Sherbourne Road. Bori, 24, died after being stabbed multiple times. Klaudia, 21, was left critically injured and is still battling both physical and psychological scars.
Soj was arrested at the scene and charged three days later.
Life behind bars for cold-blooded attacker
At Bradford Crown Court on June 17, Soj was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 31 years.
Detective Chief Inspector Vanessa Rolfe described the attack as “horrific and spontaneous” on two young women who trusted him in their own home.
“Soj was someone they trusted, and no one could have predicted what he was about to do. Bori had her entire life ahead of her, which Soj cruelly took away. I applaud Soj’s guilty plea for sparing Klaudia and Bori’s families from a trial. I hope today’s sentence brings comfort and justice to Bori’s family and Klaudia. It’s encouraging to hear Klaudia is recovering and trying to move on with her life.”
Bori’s family pay tribute to bright, caring soul
Bori’s mother spoke emotionally about her daughter’s passion and dreams:
“Bori had a mission and a bright future ahead. She dedicated her life to helping children and lived by Christian principles. She earned children’s trust in seconds and believed deeply in equality and the power of love.”
“Her ambition was to build a special needs school in Hungary. ‘I will build an inclusive school, and it will be a cool place!’ she said. To honour her dream, the Bori Benko Foundation for Children in Hungary has been established to continue her legacy.”
This tragic case serves as a stark reminder of the shocking violence that can erupt behind closed doors – and the long road to recovery for survivors left in its wake.
