Sheffield Predator Jailed for Four Years of Child Abuse
Bartosz Bella, 40, has been locked up for sexually abusing two victims aged 12 and 16 over a chilling four-year period.
Manipulation, Threats and Violence
The courtroom heard how Bella controlled his young victims, forcing them into sexual acts in exchange for gifts. If they refused, he meted out brutal beatings to keep them under his thumb.
Bella, from the Manor area of Sheffield, faced Sheffield Crown Court in December 2022. The jury found him guilty of three counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and two counts of sexual assault. However, they couldn’t reach verdicts on five additional charges.
Guilty Plea Secures 21-Year Sentence
Bella was remanded in custody and returned to court this month for a retrial on the five outstanding charges, including sexual assault and assault by beating against a child under 13. On the fourth day, he pleaded guilty to all counts.
Judge slammed him with a hefty 21-year prison sentence. Alongside his jail term, Bella was slapped with a restraining order and must sign the sex offenders’ register for life.
Police Praise Victims’ Courage
Detective Constable Rina Ganatra said: “The two victims suffered harrowing abuse by Bella. I am glad he is now serving a lengthy sentence behind bars for his heinous crimes.”
“I want to thank the victims for their bravery. The serious harm caused by sexual assault can last a lifetime, but I hope with time and support they can move on to a happy adulthood.”
“We take reports of sexual assault very seriously. If you have been a victim, please come forward. You will be listened to and supported.”
Reminder: Victims of sexual offences have lifelong anonymity under UK law. Sharing any identifying details is a criminal offence.
