Stalker Jailed After Terrorising Woman for Months
Gibson’s Months of Harassment
Craig Gibson, 38, from Staines Road, Hounslow, was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court on Friday 4 March. He pleaded guilty to stalking, damaging the victim’s home, and breaching a suspended sentence for similar crimes.
Gibson relentlessly stalked the same woman over several months last year. He waited outside her house, followed her in his car, and even snapped photos of her car at different locations – sending them to her to prove he was always watching.
Fit of Rage Destroys Victim’s Home
In December, Gibson’s obsession turned violent. He smashed multiple windows at the woman’s house in a furious outburst, escalating the terror she faced daily.
His destructive behaviour and threats finally led to his arrest in January 2022.
Police Warn Stalking Could Lead To Worse
Detective Constable Lucy Stuttard said: “It is sheer relief that Gibson is now behind bars where he can’t continue to control, abuse and hurt the people around him. Gibson’s behaviour has made the life of the woman he targeted a living nightmare. He presents a high risk, particularly as stalking can often be a precursor to further harmful behaviour.”
She urged anyone suffering stalking to come forward: “We have specialist teams here to support you, and we are committed to bringing perpetrators to account.”
