Official Diversion Route in Place
Approaching drivers should follow the signed diversion marked with a solid circle symbol. The route is as follows:
- Exit the M2 at Junction 3.
- Enter the Walderslade/Blue Bell Hill roundabout.
- Join the southbound A229 towards Maidstone.
- Merge onto the M20 coastbound at its junction.
- Exit the M20 at Junction 7 onto the northbound A249.
- Continue to M2 Junction 5 at Stockbury to rejoin the motorway.
Motorists are warned to allow extra time and follow all diversion signs carefully to avoid further delays.
