Abusive boyfriend jailed after terrorising ex with knife and threats
Louis Vincent’s reign of terror
Louis Vincent, 33, subjected his victim to years of brutal abuse during their relationship. He would lurk in the communal car park waiting for her to come home – then block her in with his car. Trapped, she faced a barrage of shouting and banging on her window.
Knife threats and suffocation
Vincent’s abuse escalated to terrifying levels. He held a knife to her and strangled her. On one terrifying occasion, he forced her head into the passenger footwell, cutting off her breathing. He also threatened to harm himself or their dog if she tried to leave.
Psychological torment and damage
Beyond physical violence, Vincent sent abusive messages and deliberately damaged her clothes and belongings – terrorising her mind and property alike.
Guilty plea and sentencing
Now homeless, Vincent pleaded guilty to wounding with intent, intentional suffocation, actual bodily harm, criminal damage, and carrying a bladed article. On Friday (31 May), he was sentenced to 20 months behind bars at Peterborough Crown Court.
