Southall Man Caught with Two Machine Guns in Chiswick
David Longhor, 20, from Villiers Road, Southall, was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday, 21 July. He pled guilty in April to serious gun offences, including:
- Two counts of possession of a firearm with intent
- Two counts of possession of prohibited weapons
- Possession of ammunition without a certificate
Rare Weapon Haul Stuns Police
Detective Inspector Jim Casey from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command called it “almost unheard of” to find two Skorpion machine guns in one bust.
“Luckily, weapons of this type do not rear their ugly heads often,” said DI Casey. “Most of the time it’s thanks to the proactive work Met officers do to keep lethal weapons out of criminals’ hands.”
How the Arrest Unfolded
Police had Longhor under surveillance on Monday, 1 March. Just before 6pm, he left his home wearing blue latex gloves and carrying a rucksack. He travelled by train from Southall to Ealing, then took the District Line to Chiswick Park.
At Chiswick Park Station, Longhor was stopped and arrested by armed officers on Bollo Lane at around 6:25pm.
Inside his rucksack, officers found two Skorpion machine guns with two magazines loaded with 20 bullets each. Longhor immediately denied ownership of the firearms.
He was taken to a West London police station and charged the next day.
Police Urge Public to Report Gun Crime
“Tackling violence, especially gun crime, is our top priority,” DI Casey said. “We will continue to chase down those involved in shootings and transporting illegal guns across London.”
The Met is urging anyone with information about criminals dealing in guns to come forward via police or Crimestoppers.
