Young Drug Dealer Nabbed on A303 with £900 Worth of Cocaine
Robert Papa, 21, caught cold on the A303 with Class A drugs has been locked up for 30 months. The no-fixed-address dealer from Salisbury pleaded guilty at Salisbury Crown Court yesterday (12/11).
Stopped and Searched: The Cocaine Haul
On 14 October 2020, police stopped Papa’s Ford Focus en route from Amesbury to Andover. Acting on tip-offs, officers found 18 bags of cocaine worth around £900 during a strip search.
Phone Evidence Seals the Deal
Investigators also uncovered recent drug deal evidence on Papa’s phone, confirming he’d just sold cocaine in Amesbury. Despite only arriving from Romania days before, Papa had no UK criminal record.
Police Crack Down on Drug Networks
Det Con Mark Welch, Fortitude Team: “This is a great result. It shows how good intelligence helps us catch and stop drug suppliers operating locally and across borders. We believe Papa is linked to a bigger drug network, so this sentence hits those gangs hard.”
Wiltshire Police vow to keep up the pressure with Project Fortitude, promising relentless action against drug dealers.
