Predator Sentenced to 12 Years for Rape and Sexual Assault of Young Boy

Robson Thompson, 25, a drifter with no fixed address, has been slammed with a 12-year jail term for raping and sexually assaulting a young boy in Nottinghamshire. Initially, he admitted to one sexual assault but denied further abuse. After a thorough police probe, more offences came to light, forcing Thompson to plead guilty to additional charges including rape.

Investigators Uncover More Shocking Crimes

Nottinghamshire Police detectives dug deep following Thompson’s initial denial of extra offences. Their relentless work uncovered clear evidence linking him to multiple sexual attacks over several months. The case went to Nottingham Crown Court, where Judge handed down a harsh sentence: 12 years behind bars plus five years on licence.

Lifetime Sex Offender Registration and Restrictions Imposed

Along with imprisonment, Thompson will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life. He is also slapped with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, designed to restrict his movements and reduce risk to the public.

Police Praise Victim’s Bravery, Urge Reporting of Sexual Crimes

Detective Constable Kerry Stringfellow said: “Thompson’s monstrous acts were disgraceful, predatory and vile. He knew what he was doing was sick and wrong but carried on regardless, committing a number of offences over a series of months.

“While he handed himself in, he attempted to claim that he was not guilty of further offences. We were committed to ensuring guilty pleas were secured.

“Sexual assaults are among the most horrific acts anyone can commit and we take these investigations very seriously. We work hard to support victims and I want to commend the victim and their family for their bravery during this traumatic time.

“It is vital victims report crimes so we can bring the perpetrators to justice. Today’s sentence won’t erase the past but hopefully brings some closure to those affected by Thompson’s actions.”
