Murder Probe Launched After Brutal Knightsbridge Stabbing
A young man has died and another injured after a shocking stabbing in Knightsbridge. Police launched a murder investigation following the attack, which has left the local community shaken.
Deadly Knife Attack on Brompton Road
At just after midnight, officers were called to Brompton Road, SW1, where they found a 26-year-old man unconscious with a stab wound to the back.
Despite efforts by London’s Air Ambulance and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene by 12.30am. The victim’s next of kin have been informed, though formal ID is pending. A post-mortem is due to take place today at Westminster Mortuary.
Second Victim Hospitalised, But Stable
A second man who was with the victim also suffered knife injuries. He was rushed to a West London hospital and is now in a stable condition with non-life-threatening wounds.
Homicide Team on the Case
The Homicide Assessment Team has taken over the investigation, led by Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge.
“It appears the victims were heading home after dining nearby when two males approached them on Basil Street, near the junction with Pavilion Road,” said DCI Partridge.
“We believe the suspects confronted the victims to steal property and attacked them during the encounter. However, we are keeping an open mind on the motive and are following several lines of inquiry at pace.”
“Anyone with information should come forward. All tips will be treated with strict confidence.”
