Tragedy in Mitcham: Young Man Dies After Shooting in Croydon Road

Early Hours Gunshot Victim Found in Mitcham

Police rushed to Croydon Road near Beddington Lane at around 2.25am on Tuesday, 4 April, after reports of a man seriously injured.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was found with a gunshot wound. Emergency crews from the London Ambulance Service fought to save him, but he sadly died in hospital shortly after.

Crime Scene Sealed Off as Homicide Squad Takes Over

Metropolitan Police homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are now leading the investigation. A crime scene remains cordoned off as officers hunt for answers.

No arrests have been made yet. Inquiries continue to identify the victim’s next of kin and piece together what happened.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage

Detectives urge anyone who was near Croydon Road and Beddington Lane around the time of the shooting to come forward. They are especially keen to speak to road users with dash cams who might have captured crucial footage.
