Brutal Robber Kyle Gray Jailed for Two Savage Attacks in Nuneaton
Kyle Gray, 23, from Attleborough Road, Nuneaton, was handed a harsh sentence on March 21 after carrying out two violent robberies in 2021.
January 1 Attack: Victim Ambushed and Beaten
- The first robbery happened just after midnight on New Year’s Day.
- A woman invited a man to her flat after messaging with him.
- Once there, the victim was ambushed by Gray and two others.
- He was smashed over the head with beer bottles, humiliated, and threatened for hours.
- The victim was forced to call a relative to transfer money into his bank account.
- Gray and his gang then demanded the victim’s bank card and PIN.
- The victim refused and was escorted to a cash machine—but managed to escape.
Boxing Day Robbery: Bowie Knife Threats and Christmas Theft
- The second robbery took place on Boxing Day 2021 in a Nuneaton flat.
- Gray pulled a Rambo-style bowie knife and threatened to stab the victim.
- The victim had tried to protect a vulnerable person, drawing Gray’s wrath.
- Gray demanded money; the victim handed over £100 cash.
- Gray’s associate withdrew almost all the victim’s bank funds, leaving just £100 “because it’s Christmas.”
- Gray punched the victim in the face before later confronting him in the street.
- He apologised and promised to repay the money but dropped veiled threats: “Do you know who my brothers are?”
Police Hunt Ends with Arrest Before Christmas
Gray went into hiding after the attacks but was arrested days before Christmas following a coordinated police operation involving Protective Services and CID.
During interviews, Gray refused to answer questions, saying “no comment.”
Detectives Praise Victims’ Courage and Justice Served
“Gray tried to scare the victim into silence but has learned he can’t bully his way out of justice,” said Detective Constable Rachael Stain, lead investigator on the Boxing Day case.
“The victim showed incredible bravery standing up for a vulnerable person and helping hold a violent offender accountable.”
Detective Sergeant Paul Vines, who led the January 1 robbery case, added: “This was a calculated, cruel attack. Gray’s savagery was beyond what most offenders do. Removing him from Nuneaton streets benefits everyone.”
“His refusal to cooperate with police in naming the other suspects also reflects his dangerous attitude.”
Kyle Gray now faces the consequences of his violent spree. Nuneaton can breathe easier with this menace off the streets.
