Drug Dealer Nabbed After Police Trace Phone Data to 120 Buyers

O’Toole’s Drug Line Uncovered

Thomas O’Toole has been slapped with three years behind bars after mobile phone data linked him to a Class A drug racket involving more than 120 users. kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police launched an investigation in January 2021, tracing a suspicious phone number to an address on Trench Road where O’Toole was known to hang out.

The mobile line blasted regular marketing messages peddling drugs, exposing a slick sales operation disguised as normal chat.

Scrap Metal Ruse Raises Police Suspicion

On April 20, cops stopped O’Toole during a patrol. He claimed he was just collecting scrap metal for cash. But this story didn’t add up. Earlier drug deal texts sent from his phone line offered free scrap metal collection – a clever cover to dodge suspicion.

Police Raid Finds Drugs and Cash

Then, in the early hours of May 7, officers raided O’Toole’s home on Audley Avenue. They seized the phone linked to the dodgy texts, which had been ripped apart in a desperate attempt to disable it. Alongside the phone, police recovered cocaine, cannabis, and stacks of cash.

O’Toole, 27, was hit with charges for cocaine supply and possession of drugs. He pled guilty at Maidstone Crown Court and was convicted on July 15.

Police Praise Tough Action Against Repeat Offender

“O’Toole is a repeat and prolific offender,” said PC James O’Gorman of the Tonbridge Community Policing Team. “Despite previous convictions and prison sentences, he showed no intent to change. Our determined policing stopped a major supply line and kept these dangerous drugs off our streets.”

“Drug dealers like O’Toole think they can operate with impunity. We keep proving that’s rubbish. Anyone peddling poison in our communities faces tough justice and prison.”
