Worthing Shoplifter Nabbed for £500 Hair Product Heist

Arron Jones, 27, from The Steyne, Worthing, has been jailed after nicking nearly £500 worth of hair products. The prolific shoplifter appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 12, following a guilty plea to multiple charges spanning January to July.
Multiple Thefts and More
Jones was hit with 11 counts of shop theft, including a big haul from Boots in Worthing and £200 worth of stolen goods from the Co-op in Lancing. He also faced one count of attempted theft. On top of that, the unemployed crook was convicted of eight breaches of a Community Protection Notice and a common assault committed on July 19.
Justice Served
The court handed Jones a 42-week prison sentence, with several suspended sentences running concurrently. He was also ordered to pay £50 in victim compensation.
Adur and Worthing Prevention Sergeant Craig Burgess said: “Jones has committed a number of thefts from a variety of shops in the Adur and Worthing area during the lockdown period when businesses were staying open to provide a much needed service to the community. Such prolific offenders will always be targeted by the police and we welcome the sentence from the courts.”
