Train Toilet Rapist Jailed After Sick Woman’s Horror Attack in Kent

Timothy Davies Locked Up for Six Years

Timothy Davies, 45, from Ramsgate, was sentenced to six years behind bars for raping an unwell woman in a train toilet. The shocking attack took place on December 9, 2018, during a late-night journey to Ramsgate.

Attack Caught on CCTV

CCTV footage revealed Davies touching the victim inappropriately before leading her into a train toilet and locking the door. The victim, who was bent over being sick, was then raped by Davies while his wife waited outside, knocking on the door and unaware of the horror unfolding inside.

Victim’s Courage Leads to Justice

After the attack, the victim confided in her family, who immediately contacted the police. British Transport Police arrested Davies the same morning. Despite his claims that the encounter was consensual and that the victim “enjoyed” it, a jury at Canterbury Crown Court found him guilty on February 7.

“This was an absolutely appalling attack and for Davies to try and claim it was in any way consensual is beyond reprehensible,” said Detective Constable Marc Farmer. “Thankfully the Jury saw straight through his web of lies and came to a unanimous verdict.” “I hope seeing him behind bars will be some small comfort for the victim, and that she can finally now start to piece her life back together again.”

In her victim impact statement, the woman described the assault as a “nightmare” and said it has left a scar that will never heal. Her bravery in coming forward was praised by police as key to bringing Davies to justice.

Strong Message to Sex Offenders

Detective Farmer added, “I hope this sends a very clear message that we will do everything in our power to prosecute sex offenders and rapists like Davies.”
