RAF Bomb Hoax Suspect Faces Court Over Terror Charges
Daniel Abed Khalife in the Dock
Daniel Abed Khalife, 21, stands accused of planting three wired canisters at RAF Stafford in January, sparking fears they could explode and cause serious harm. The 21-year-old from Beacon Barracks appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court for a preliminary hearing on 28 January, looking sharp in a grey jumper and blue jeans.
Two Terror-Related Charges Laid
On 27 January, Khalife was formally charged with two incidents at RAF Stafford — one from August 2021 and the other this January. His barrister, Michael Jones, confirmed Khalife’s identity and details during proceedings. Earlier, on 9 December, Khalife was remanded in custody following an earlier court appearance.
Terror Act Violations
Court documents state Khalife allegedly tried to obtain sensitive information about a current or former member of His Majesty’s forces — an offence under Section 58A of the Terrorism Act 2000. The second charge accuses him of a bomb hoax, placing three wired canisters at RAF Stafford to create the impression they could detonate, breaching Section 51.
Next Court Date Set
District Judge Annabel Pilling delayed Khalife’s plea before venue hearing until 3 February, following a request from prosecutor Tom Williams. Khalife remains in custody and must appear at the next hearing.
