Child Sex Offender Ben Quinton-Taylor Jailed After Shocking Assault
Ben Quinton-Taylor was sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court on 6 October 2023. He admitted assault by penetration against a primary school-aged girl.
Abuse Spanned Years and Multiple Victims
The victim reported that Quinton-Taylor sexually assaulted her between 2009 and 2011 inside a Gillingham property. She was just a child at the time.
Kent Police launched an investigation in September 2019 after the allegations surfaced. Quinton-Taylor was arrested in February 2020 and formally charged in June 2022 after a thorough probe.
The 47-year-old, from High Street, Canterbury, also pleaded guilty to criminal damage plus two counts of controlling and coercive behaviour. These additional charges relate to separate offences involving two other victims.
Lifetime Sex Offender Registration and Restraining Orders
Quinton-Taylor was sentenced to prison and slapped with restraining orders banning contact with all three victims. He has been placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was also imposed to stop him from reoffending.
Detective Hails Victim’s Bravery
“Quinton-Taylor sought to silence his young victim by fear of violence,” said Detective Constable Emma Davies from Medway’s Vulnerability Investigation Team.
“She should have been able to trust him and feel safe, but instead, he subjected her to brutal behaviour which has had a lasting impact on her life.”
“I want to commend her bravery in speaking out and reporting him. He has shown no remorse. His sentence is wholly deserved, and he is now facing the consequences of his actions.”
