Brutal Robber Stamps on Victim’s Head in Shocking Sheffield Attack
Kaul Cross, 19, from Sheffield, has been locked up for 45 months after a terrifying robbery near Broomhead Reservoir last June. The thug pleaded guilty to robbery, grievous bodily harm, wounding, and affray at Sheffield Crown Court.
Violent Assault on Innocent Man
On 9 June 2019, Cross targeted a 20-year-old man sitting on the grass. When the victim ignored him, Cross demanded, “hand everything over.” Then, without hesitation, he stamped on the man’s head and leg, before fleeing with his wallet and headphones.
Caught Using Stolen Bank Card on CCTV
Cross’s brazen spree didn’t end there. He was spotted on CCTV using the victim’s stolen bank card to spend over £75 at Parson Cross and Texaco petrol stations. Footage also captured the registration plate of the car he was driving, leading cops straight to him.
PC Katie Gillatt explained: “We recovered the vehicle and found Cross’s fingerprints on cigarettes inside. Plus, a fast food receipt and CCTV showed him driving the car.”
Second Victim Comes Forward
After the first victim’s attack, a woman reported Cross had stolen her handbag the same day. He refused to comment during police interviews but pled guilty at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.
“Cross used intimidation and violence to steal victim’s property,” said PC Gillatt. “This is appalling behaviour and is unacceptable. I hope the victims and wider community take reassurance that Cross is now behind bars.”
Justice served: Cross will spend nearly four years in jail for his brutal crime spree.
