Three Attacked in Brutal Evening Assault on Nottingham’s St James’ Street

Violent Attack Rocks City Centre

Three men, two in their twenties and a teenager, were viciously attacked on St James’ Street, Nottingham, at about 6.50pm on Saturday 19 February. Two suffered serious facial injuries, while the third sustained a deep cut to the back of his head.

Additional Victims Hurt in Punching Spree

Two other men also suffered minor injuries after being punched during the chaotic assault, adding to the night’s violence.

Suspect Charged and Held in Custody

Kyle Newell, 33, from Claremont Road, New Basford, has been hit with multiple charges including three counts of wounding with intent, two counts of assault, one count of affray, and possession of a bladed article.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday and has been remanded in custody ahead of a Crown Court hearing on 4 April.

Police Speak Out

Detective Inspector Richard Guy of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This kind of violence has absolutely no place in our society and I am pleased we now have charged a suspect in relation to this attack. Our investigation continues.”
