Kent Police sprang into action at 11.08am on Thursday 15 August 2024 after reports of a suspicious package on Snargate Street, Dover. The street was quickly cordoned off and searched to keep the public safe.

False Alarm Ends with Arrest

After a thorough sweep, officers confirmed the package was a hoax. An arrest was made on the same day, putting an end to the scare.

Man Charged with False Bomb Threat

Dean Sarjeant, 52, of London Road, Dover, was charged with making a false bomb threat. He was remanded in custody and is set to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Friday 16 August.
