Box City Burglar Busted After String of Break-Ins
Police have launched a probe after a spate of burglaries hit a clutch of small businesses in Box City. A barber shop, hair salon, and sandwich bar were all targeted overnight between 22 and 23 August 2023. Thieves made off with cash, a laptop, and a mobile phone.
Man Charged After Overnight Raid Spree
On Saturday 2 September, Medway Victim Based Crime Team arrested Tony Jackson, 62, from Burnt Oak Terrace, Gillingham. He faces eight burglary charges, including a separate warehouse break-in at Gillingham Business Park on 28 August.
Suspect Denies All Charges, Next Hearing Set
Jackson appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 4 September and pleaded not guilty to all counts. He was remanded in custody ahead of his maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Crown Court hearing on 2 October.
