Kent Police’s Crime Squad launched an investigation after a man in his 70s reported his wallet was snatched on George Lane on Tuesday, 15 June 2021.

Shane Myles hit with multiple charges

Shane Myles, 30, from Walton Road, Folkestone, faces theft charges linked to the wallet robbery. He’s also charged with two counts of fraud for allegedly using the stolen bank card.

Criminal behaviour piles up

But that’s not all. Myles is accused of being drunk and disorderly in Folkestone on Friday, 11 June. On the same day, he faces two assault charges against emergency workers and criminal damage to a police cell.

Remanded in custody ahead of crown court

Myles appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 18 June and was remanded in custody. He’s due back at Canterbury Crown Court on 19 July.
