Teen Stabs Man in Shocking Southampton Attack

A 16-year-old boy has been locked up for six years after stabbing an 18-year-old man multiple times in Southampton. The knife attack near Monks Way on 11 October last year left the victim fighting for his life.

Brutal Assault in Alleyway

The trouble began when the teenager asked the victim for a lift to Mansbridge. The 18-year-old initially refused but eventually drove him there. The pair then walked to a nearby park, where the teen suddenly pulled a knife from his bag.

The victim tried to escape but fell. The boy stabbed him twice in the abdomen and twice in the flank before running away.

Despite life-threatening injuries, the man managed to get help from a neighbour and was rushed to hospital. Fortunately, he has now made a full recovery.

Police Crack Down on Youth Violence

Three days later, police arrested the 16-year-old. A search of his home uncovered cannabis, two firearms, ammunition, and an imitation pistol hidden under floorboards.

The boy pleaded guilty to firearm possession offences and drugs charges. He was found guilty of wounding with intent and sentenced at Southampton Crown Court.

Senior Officer Vows to Keep Southampton Safe

“This unwarranted attack was terrifying for the victim,” said DI Janine Bradley, lead investigator. “Knife crime destroys lives and taking weapons off our streets is a top priority. We will use all tools at our disposal, from knife sweeps to enforcement, to stop people carrying knives.”

“Operation Sceptre last week saw more weapons seized as part of our fight against serious violence. I hope the young man learns from his crime and the community sees we’re dedicated to a safer Southampton.”
