Teen Burglar Raids Cars Across Birmingham and Solihull
Leo Joe, 19, terrorised Birmingham and Solihull neighbourhoods by breaking into homes and stealing luxury cars. His crime spree ran from 10 February to 9 March, hitting areas including Yardley, Castle Bromwich, Stechford, Small Heath, and Sheldon.
Luxury Cars Stolen in Early Morning Raids
Joe prowled streets in the dead of night, swiping top-tier vehicles like a Jaguar F-Pace, Volkswagens, Mercedes, and Skodas. Police linked him to multiple thefts through CCTV footage and forensic evidence, including clothing found at several crime scenes.
Forensic Evidence and Phone Photos Seal the Deal
West Midlands Police’s Burglary – High Harm Team arrested Joe after discovering incriminating photos on his phone. His search history revealed repeated attempts to find false registrations for the stolen cars, confirming his calculated approach.
Sentenced to Over Five Years
Joe, from The Radleys in Sheldon, pleaded guilty to nine counts of burglary. On 13 October at Birmingham Crown Court, he was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in a youth offender institute.
PC Chris Senter of the Burglary – High Harm Team said:
“Joe’s actions wreaked havoc across Birmingham and Solihull, causing misery to many. He left people in fear after forcing entry into their homes while they slept and treated the streets like his own personal car shopping experience. Stopping vehicle theft is a force priority and I hope Joe’s sentencing today will provide some comfort to the many victims left shocked and distressed by his crimes.”
