Thief Jailed for Serial Burglaries and Fraud in Folkestone
Valter Pimentel, 22, has been slammed with a 15-month prison sentence at Canterbury Crown Court for a string of crimes including burglary, theft, and fraud.
Crime Spree Spanning Shops and Streets
Pimentel’s rampage wreaked havoc across Folkestone, with the Victim Based Crime Team linking him to multiple offences:
- October 17, 2021: £2,500 worth of jewellery stolen from a Bouverie Place Shopping Centre shop.
- October 14, 2021: Various items taken from Tesco on Cheriton High Street.
- July 28, 2021: Fraudulent use of a bank card stolen from a woman in her 70s on Sandgate Road.
- April 23, 2022: Clothing stolen from another Bouverie Place shop.
- December 24, 2022: Break-in at Asda in Bouverie Place.
Shockingly, some of these offences were committed while Pimentel was serving a suspended sentence for affray.
Police Crack Down on Repeat Offenders
Sergeant Sarah Williams of the Folkestone Victim Based Crime Team vowed to protect local residents and businesses from criminals like Pimentel.
“I’m glad my team was able to prove the number of offences he was involved in, and I’m glad the court recognised the gravity of his continued actions with this jail sentence.”
Kent Police’s relentless investigation ensures offenders face justice, sending a clear message that crime won’t be tolerated in the community.
